General Shipping Policies
We package orders in the shop on Mondays and Thursdays, so packages usually ship on Tuesdays and Fridays. Orders placed Friday evening will typically not ship until Tuesday. As there is generally only one person (me) and sometimes an assistant working in the shop, this schedule can change temporarily without notice due to illness/injury/travel/family events. For this reason we ask for understanding and patience with your orders, and can only guarantee shipping within two weeks of purchase.
Items ship with tracking info via USPS or UPS, depending on which service is most cost-effective and efficient for the size of the package and the customer’s location and delivery needs.
International Shipping:
We are able to ship most items to Canada, Australia and New Zealand, as well as the UK and EU. Other countries are possible, but due to the nature of the materials used in our brooms as well as the sizes of some packages, some import/customs regulations or restrictions may apply. If you are unsure if you will be able to receive your package in your country, please email alyssa@hearthcraftbrooms.com. It is also helpful if you are able to research your country’s import regulations, and I am always happy to discuss options via email.
Duty / Customs / Import Fees
Most imported packages will incur fees upon arrival/delivery which are the customer’s responsibility. Fees are typically some percentage of the item value as listed on the customs declaration. We do not alter these values on customs forms except for workshop kits, as the cost paid for the kit includes the class. In that case the value is adjusted to reflect only the materials in the kit.
Please be aware that due to many factors beyond my control, your package may take anywhere from 1 to 8 weeks to arrive once shipped. After your package is shipped, I am unable to update tracking information and your package is in the hands of the Messenger Gods.
Shipping for Commissions
Lead-time for custom work is generally 4-6 weeks unless other terms are agreed upon between myself and the client. Items will ship 1-2 weeks after project completion.
Shipping for Virtual Workshop Kits
Workshop kits for scheduled classes are shipped the week prior to the class date. If a kit is ordered in September for a December workshop, the kit will not ship until December. As workshop kits are custom and built to suit the customer, this helps to streamline our packaging process by preparing all the same types of kits at the same time.
