Beltane Maypole Cobwebber - Virtual Workshop & Kit - April 26
*We will update with photos of curated color mix soon*
Please read all information thoroughly!
This class takes place over Zoom at 10am on Saturday, April 26 Pacific, and will take about two to four hours.
Welcome to the next installment in our Curated Color Workshops! We will be making Cobwebbers with a curated mix of colored and natural broomcorn, and complementary twine for stitching and weaving! This workshop will teach you to make a fun broom in a classic shape that is special enough for your Beltane rituals. In this class you will learn to stitch the broomcorn, as well as weave the stalks onto the broom handle. We will also discuss how to add other Maypole elements such as dried flowers, ribbon, and charms. This is the first workshop I’ve offered where we will be incorporating other organic elements. You can also dry your own flowers and herbs in anticipation of this class if you would like to add a twist of magic from your own garden. This delicate beauty is also one of the most useful brooms I make: Perfect for high ceilings, dark crevices, and the scary eaves outside your house. This workshop comes with a fully stocked kit.
The kit includes:
- Broomcorn (a mix of natural and our curated color scheme)
- Curated complimentary twine color
- Dried flowers
- Wooden stick for your broom handle (kiln-dried, ethically sourced PNW hardwood )
- A stitching needle
Other items you will need to gather ahead of time:
- A sharp knife
- Scissors
- A lighter
- A hand towel
- A wooden dowel to use as a foot brake
- A vase or jar to soak your broomcorn stalks in
- Ribbons or charms (optional for adding to broom)
